This is Jan's idea. She thinks a blog is a great idea for my family. A lot of things I find myself doing are Jan's ideas. Alan points out that Jan does not have a blog. He thinks this is interesting. Jan didn't use the word "should"...I think THAT is interesting.
"Should" is a very volatile word for me. Sometimes parenting is just keeping your head above water and hiding all your inadequacies from the world. For example, the fact that your children had popcorn for dinner because you haven't gotten to the grocery store and the cupboard is bare. In this situation, having someone call and say, "You should...." is frustrating and ok, enraging.
Alan says he will never post to this. He doesn't read, he says. I give him three months and he will want to respond to something. Three months, ok?
